For the first time in art’s history, we make art accessible to everyone. Simply taking a photo of an artwork reveals all the details about the work and the artist. The app tells you the name of the artist, title, dimensions, year and – above all – the price. Nor does it stop here. We created the map to keep you informed on what’s currently showing or to help you discover new art spots around you. Our map helps you to navigate through the art jungle.

Wrong prices, not reliable
Nice and entertaining but the listed prices are just a joke. neither the price from the gallery nor the price from the auction is correct. I just did some tests. Instead of $1.7m a painting is listed for more than $100m. And the highest auction price of the same piece is $3.5m which is also wrong. To me it seems the picture recognition does not really work or the database is not very up to date. One main issue is that everyone can enter a price for a piece of art which will not be checked or validated. So the app looks good and is a funny pastime but it lacks reliable information.
