Perfect for wind forecast
I use ist for the wind forecast, it is precisely in direction and velocity.
Precipitation forecast is not really precisely, but okay.
Used to be good
The app used to be pretty good in France and Spain, although rather average in it’s reliability in the mid and eastern Austria. This season it unfortunately became a random numbers generator — the wind strength is very often overestimated by 10-15 km/h, sometimes even worse, the thermal quality predictions are very often by far worse than in reality especially on the moist days. Generally the cloud base in Laragne, Greifenburg and eastern Austria has been by 300-500 m higher than the predicted by this app. Also quite often the predicted length of the thermal day has very little to do with the reality.
Precipitation predictions are often inconsistent between the map mode and the thermal mode — it may often be that no rain is shown in the map for a certain time of the day but the thermal prediction for a particular spot shows heavy rain at the same time. Rain and storm predictions in Laragne and Greifenburg are just not correct. Basically the forecast leaves no chances for a day to fly and then it turns out to be quite good flying day in reality. Unfortunately it happens to often to be satisfied with this app.
