Description
Practice your essential newborn care skills in different patient scenarios
This application is intended only for healthcare professionals who have already been trained in essential newborn care according to the standards of the World Health Organization.
Keep your skills fresh in this immersive training simulation that will take you through a series of patient scenarios involving a number of different possible conditions. Scenarios include the period immediately before birth through either discharge or referral to a facility with a higher level of care, excluding the birth itself. You will need to recognize the patient's status throughout each scenario, classify the patient, and react appropriately with the correct actions.
Possible conditions include, but are not limited to:
Low Birth Weight
Fast Breathing
Chest Indrawing
Apnea
Poor Muscle Tone
Seizures
Jaundice
Fever
Hypothermia
Congenital Anomalies
Feeding Difficulty
Virtual Essential Newborn Care is a mobile virtual reality (VR) application that you can use with or without a low cost VR viewer such as Google Cardboard. If you do not have a VR viewer, tap on the X in the top left corner to switch to the screen-based mode.
