ÖBB Tickets 4+

Totally confusing

I have bought tickets using the app on my iPad, only to find that app is the only place I can see them, so apparently I can’t use my iPhone’s app to get on the trains. Also, I bought tickets for my husband too, but they can’t be on his phone app. We’re hoping that we can use printed out copies of the ticket codes to board the train, but we can’t find out if that’s the case without ringing the company - not easy from Australia!
There may be more information in German somewhere on their website about how to do this, but I can’t find any useful advice in English.

Useless for anything other than purchase

Completely useless unless you purchase tickets directly with your own account. No way to add existing tickets (which may have been purchased by someone else as is extremely common…!). No access to up to date timetable information, only ticket purchasing info.

As a tourist visiting Austria, the ÖBB app was intuitive and really easy to use, incredibly easy to navigate, even if you’re unfamiliar with the local transport system. I could book train tickets, check schedules, and get real-time updates all in one place. The app shows which platform to go to, so whether traveling between cities or exploring smaller towns, i think the ÖBB app is a must-have for any tourist!
