Works when it wants

I am going to have to agree with most reviews here...this extension is SO random...I always end up trying a beta extension to see if 1Password can actually worl. At present, I click the extension icon (locked) which brings up 1Password and asks for the password. After entering it closes down, and the 1P icon is Safari is still locked. I really know my way inside apps and I cannot understand how the regular joe will use w/o throwing their machine out the window.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for your review, we're sorry you're running into trouble here. Could you try resetting the desktop integration and see if that helps: right-click the 1Password icon in the Safari toolbar > Settings > General > toggle off Integrate with 1Password app. Next completely quit Safari and the 1Password app, relaunch both, and turn the setting back on. If that doesn't help, send an email in to support@1password.com and someone will reach out to investigate.

This extension simply does not work

The 1Password 8 Safari extension is so buggy such that I have reverted to (the functioning) 1Password 7 extension and app. The Safari extension never autocompletes a password when clicking on the autocomplete dropdown options, and when you try to sign up to a new website, clicking the auto-generated password to save a new login simply does not work. You can keep clicking the autogenerated password to your hearts content—nothing happens (unlike 1Password 7). I constantly have to open up 1Password manually and copy and paste login credentials, rendering this extension useless. Despite all the troubleshooting techniques and using 1Password 8 for months on end, I am just fed up and resorting back to 1Password 7. I hope the developers fix this because it really is disappointing.

Browser Extension Working Now

Feb 2023: Have just migrated from LastPass to 1Password, and the Safari browser extension unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired. Autofill won't work (even though turned on), have to manually copy and paste both usernames and passwords. Even asks if I want to save said names and passwords to 1Password! The app itself seems OK, but the extension is far from seamless.

UPDATE June 2023: I'm no longer having the Safari issues, everything is working as expected. Updating rating from 2 stars to 5 stars.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for leaving us a review. If you could send an email to support@1password.com, we'd be happy to work with you and get 1Password working the way it should.
