Hours of Fun!
I have used this app every day since 2012. I find the 9GAG community to be a lot of fun and most of the posts in the Hot section are funny. The comments section is usually good for a laugh as well.
My only complaint is that there is an abundance of pointless and unfunny posts in Fresh section, including blatant reposts and Instagram/Facebook style (look at how cute my pet is or look at where I work etc) posts. The pet posts are probably the most annoying, due to the high volume. All that said, these posts can be avoided by sticking to the Hot or Trending sections.
The interface is clean, easy to use and available in a light or dark theme. Regular updates also mean that the occasional (very rare) glitch is short lived.
The ads can be a nuisance but can be easily removed by upgrading to Pro version. It costs less than a cup of coffee and in my opinion is definitely worth the money.
All in all, this is a great and very addictive app.
New feature bug updates!
Every time I foolishly update this one it gets a little worse. It worked fine around the 2018 release but then.. First it was crashes to desktop, next it was annoying UI quirks like the app stops responding when scrolling through comments. This time around is that pointless and annoying advisory to ‘be nice everyone!’ (F**K that, I’d rather be and see real.) coupled with the best yet - scrolling down into comments on video clips causes a paused video to play and pausing again just seems to start playback again the moment you scroll down. Really annoying. This bug didn’t exist before, when the app was almost ideal. Now it’s getting worse. Which part of app development is that again? Sheesh. Don’t fix it if it ain’t actually broke.
Best way to recharge your batteries!
It’s 7 years I’m enjoying 9GAG and it’s still a lot of fun! Great way to stay up to date with what’s on in the world, with lots of opinions simultaneously. Lots of laughs and well and great community vibe! Don’t stop 9GAG! Only shame is that I’ve upgraded to the pro version but I’m still receiving ad even if I’ve updated all my settings!
