Great but with one slightly annoying bug

Usually love the app but there is one bug atm that is a little annoying, which has lead to this review. The bug occurs when you have previously viewed an episode e.g. an episode of the news. You then return to the app the next day and either choose to “watch” or choose today’s episode. The expected behaviour would be to automatically play today’s episode. Instead it is showing the selections ‘resume from beginning’ and ‘continue watching’ (or something pretty similar). If you choose ‘continue watching’ it starts playing the last 30 seconds or so of yesterday’s episode. I definitely do watch yesterday’s episode to the end. Perhaps you have a cached time pointer (or similar) that is still pointing to the previous episode?. Atm the only work around is to exit, and specifically select and play today’s episode.
Otherwise great work.

Hi,
I love love love abc and watch it ALL THE TIME! This app is a lifesaver compared to all those other expensive hard to use apps! I definitely recommend using this app as you will be blown away! To improve this almost perfect app I would…….. add more programs for teenagers. There is almost no content for teens to watch. There is content for younger kids and adults but I have looked and looked but what shows do teens watch? I find myself continuing to watch the same things (not that is bad or anything……..🤪) but add more content number one. Number 2 add some new shows! Often there is shows from 2018 but I never find new shows all my friends rave on about these news shows they find on other programs bunt I want to watch the babysitters club and not have to pay $30 to netflix! Other than these small issues (easily fixed) I love abc and can not even describe how much I love it!

Great app!

I generally love this app especially being able to continue watching as you switch apps where it o relays your screen.

Tip: If you hold the app icon you can jump into your content quickly.

-1 star for having to select “who’s watching” ever time I login. A phone is a personal device - remember me and let me take extra steps to switch my profile if need be (in a rare to never event). Also if the app could remember my last activity (like watching ABC News) and allow me to continue watching right away from the first screen I enter on, it saves me selecting who’s watching, scrolling to the ABC News live stream and clicking play when the page opens.

Hello AlonBerman. If only use one profile on ABC iview and you may notice that we have reduced the amount of times we ask "Who's Watching" on our latest update (5.1.0). You could also add your favourite live stream to your Watchlist to save you on the scroll and additional taps. Hope this helps!

Great App!

There are so many reasons to love the ABC. The pride of it being our 'national broadcaster' is a big one, but the reason I like most is this ... Even though the ABC is government funded and non-commercial, putting it at the mercy of the govt. for funding, the ABC in all its forms (TV, radio, Internet, apps...) is by far the best media outlet we have in Australia..most young people might not agree but you develop this love and respect for our good 'ol national broadcaster as you get older, and I think that's because it's a media source that provides mostly unbiased content and also it doesn't get involved or hung up in ratings wars (like 7 and 9). Personally the constant battling between the two media conglomerates is just pathetic.

While the annual budget for the ABC might seem like a lot, when compared to the aggressively competitive commercial networks, it's peanuts. But despite this, I believe the ABC consistently manages to produce quality media on all platforms, starting with their content on TV and radio right down to the quality of their apps and Internet sites.

We all need to remember that we are lucky to live in a country where the national broadcaster who is entirely dependent on the government for funding, can openly call out or criticise said government when they do wrong!

Five stars for ABC all the way!!! :D

Quality content, annoying UX

The ABC’s content is great as always but the new UX journey is frustrating. What took me a Tap Tap Scroll Tap to watch my Watchlist shows in the previous version of the app now takes a Tap Scroll Tap Tap Scroll Tap Scroll Tap, twice as many moves. I know, first world problem, but can you please put a Watchlist shortcut on the home page? Also, the font’s really small and hard to read, can that be adjustable in settings? It just took me 7 minutes to find Series 2 of a show that is currently in Series 3. Please just show all the available episodes on one page, these drop down boxes are too much for nothing. And finally, the Show More drop down on the episode page is not necessary for hiding 5 lines, it’s just another gd Tap to determine which show to watch first based on which show is going to expire first. Can we organise our watchlist by show expiry date? Thanks.

It’s amazing but there’s a slight problems

Hi, so my sister and I have been dying to watch new episodes of the show miraculous ladybug. The problem is that everyday there’s a new episode (for season 5) but they aren’t in order. We have watched it form episode 1-9 but the next day when we went to see if episode 10 was released, episode 12 was? Then we waited another day thinking that it was a bug and then found episode 16?! I would really like if you would consider adding the other episodes because we probably aren’t the only ones experiencing this. Thank you so much if you do try to fix it, please keep me updated! Thanks!

Great app but why can’t I download it?

Ok so I love this app and it was on my old phone. I used to watch all sorts of good quality shows on here. I got a new phone and totally forgot about this app. I’m trying to download it and it’s just not working. I was playing games on my phone while waiting, like I usually do, but it there was absolutely no progress. So I turned it off, took a shower, had some food and did some work. Literally an hour and a half later, still nothing I’m so frustrated and still waiting. Does anyone know if I need to do something to make it download or does this app just have take over two hours to download? I need to know!

Was fantastic, but does not work since update

This app previously was incredible, easy to use and eye-catching with all of the best shows. But since I updated it to 4.0 it stopped working. Every time I tried to go onto it the app it crashed. I tried completely shutting down the iPad and deleting and re-installing the app, but it didn’t fix the problem.
The problem occurred on an IPad 2 at IOS 9.3.5. All of my other devices, past IOS 11 and much newer, work perfectly.

P.S I had previously written a review a while ago and it disappeared. where has it gone? I have checked multiple times but I cannot find it. I wrote this one to replace it.

Last Chance gone!

The most useful program category that I used every time I opened the app was all the way below the other categories and listed shows that would soon be unavailable. In the last chance category I would find programs that I would never have searched for but they were interesting. I would find programs that have been in my watch list for ages but I hadn’t got around to watching yet so now I prioritise watching them before the end date.
This morning I opened the app and scrolled down to the end. Last chance wasn’t there. I don’t want to go through multiple categories seeing the same shows listed repeatedly. My only option now for the less popular or less promoted shows is trawling through the a-z of all shows.

Terrible app

I love the ABC and its content, but this app is terrible. Can’t see what I’ve already watched, it doesn’t update what I’ve only partway watched (seems to be stuck on an episode of something I abandoned months ago, but not other things I partway watched), can’t keep track of episodes, weirdly missing episodes (Four Corners has 3 episodes from 2018?), not an intuitive user experience with navigating and viewing shows, the watch list button and library are really unclear, to name a few of the issues. ABC should be learning from other streaming apps, their bad and good qualities. This feels like it’s made by people who don’t use the app and haven’t used any other streaming services. Looking forward to a redesign!
