AC Freedom 4+

I’ve used this app for many years to control my Rinnai AC. Since the latest update with the “changed user control screen”, all I get is Network Errors and a very basic interface that has reduced my ability to control the AC.
I’m not even able to adjust the temperature or turn it on and off remotely. The best work around I’ve found is to try and set a timer to turn it on in a few minutes time, and then cross my fingers that the house is warm when I get home.
Developers, please wind back the last update and return the true functionality to the app.

Bought 2 x Rinnai air conditioners partly because of the promised wifi connectivity to compliment my smart home set up. The app just doesn’t work, will not connect to either of the units. The conditions about turning off mobile data, make sure your router is on 2.4 ghz etc. (my latest Telstra smart modem does not give this option) are all frustratingly complicated. In today’s tech environment these things should just work with ease. I’m hoping that some sort of development will improve the usability of this app without upgrade requirements to the unit itself. Love the aircon, disappointed with the app choice, maybe Rinnai could develop their own instead of piggy backing on this 3rd world version? And maybe one that works with Siri HomeKit would be nice.

I have been happy with old app. New update downloaded and I temperature setting stuck in Fahrenheit (when I live in Australia and we use Celsius). Previously set timers that were not scheduled for everyday have stopped working, and the app will not allow me to create new timers as “timer time wrong format”. I previously had several timers set to once as I work shift work and I could activate these as I needed, now while previous timers are still in my list, I am unable to adjust them. One good addition to app is countdown feature.
