AC Freedom 4+

Bought 2 x Rinnai air conditioners partly because of the promised wifi connectivity to compliment my smart home set up. The app just doesn’t work, will not connect to either of the units. The conditions about turning off mobile data, make sure your router is on 2.4 ghz etc. (my latest Telstra smart modem does not give this option) are all frustratingly complicated. In today’s tech environment these things should just work with ease. I’m hoping that some sort of development will improve the usability of this app without upgrade requirements to the unit itself. Love the aircon, disappointed with the app choice, maybe Rinnai could develop their own instead of piggy backing on this 3rd world version? And maybe one that works with Siri HomeKit would be nice.

How does a great brand like Rinnai associate with something that in the year 2021 - despite what looks like a couple years of complaints based on below reviews - still can’t get their app to link properly ?? It just can’t connect - no matter what in my experience and based on reviews it appears many others also.. very disappointing as it would be a great feature - hopefully rinnai get their buts into get and get it fixed

App was a 5 star app - opened it earlier and all options were greyed out. Hit the power button, split system beeped 3 times, but didn’t turn on. All options on the app remote were greyed out

Uninstalled the ac, have been trying to reinstall it since and it gets stuck at “unable to connect” it does go through the steps fine, network - connecting to network - connected to network then I get the error page stating it can’t connect

Uninstalled and reinstalled app. No difference

Network is 2.4ghz - all info correct

I looked in the apps community help bit and see others are having the same issue which points to the app itself. Is there a way to install an older version?

I’m doing everything right and nothing has changed with my home network
