Great app for making shortcuts.
Exactly what I have been looking for
I have always wanted the ability to have contacts who I always call on my home screen. There is a process to go through to get the contact on the home screen, but I think the developer has done their best to try and make it as easy as possible. Once all done, pressing the icon flashes a couple of blank screens, then the calling screen…
I have tried a couple of the other shortcut types...
* The custom URL works brilliantly with GoodReader to access common files directly (which is a big plus for me). If you dig a bit in to the help section, there is also instructions on how to shortcut certain iPhone preferences (like WiFi, Hotspot, Airplane mode and many others). I was most impressed with this little gem!!
* The iPod shortcut opens up a music player inside the aHomeIcon app. I tried stopping the music from the multitasking bar, but nothing happened.. I deleted this shortcut shortly after.
* The Photo shortcut only links to one photo. It would've been great to link to an album, event or face. Again, this shortcut didn't last long.
That's all I tried. The contacts and custom URL functions are more than I need and am extremely impressed. I love the fact I now have one-touch access to certain Apple preferences, that, in my opinion, are needlessly bogged down in menus. Well done.
Worth Buying!
This is a great app for making shortcuts on the home screen (something where apple fell short)
IMO the fact that you can have one touch access to adjust wifi and brightness is worth the $1 alone
App is also useful to quickly msg, phone or email a common person (i.e. girlfriend) and playing a favorite playlist with just one touch
other features as well like twitter, skype etc but havent tried
Seems to be regularly updated too... thanks for inventing this!
