Airtasker 4+

I used to think this gig economy concept was a problem, now I realise it is just addressing a problem. Airtasker gives you the responsibility to manage your own risk and be your own boss to manage YOUR TIME the only commodity in life worth anything .

In an age where broken unions and governments allow companies to treat their employees like slaves with contracts, to give the ‚perk‘ of being able to apply for a bank loan to go into debt for things they don’t need in life . Airtasker is paving the way for an Austrian economics lifestyle where time and saving money is vastly superior to debt and contractually working more time than agreed upon with no recourse for bonus pay or help from the government or unions . Honestly , what is the point ?

I expect you the gig economy to grow in time and acceptance when people realise that they are making less per hour in their contracts with a mere illusion of job guarantee. Especially in a time like now , where people wake up to the fact the the government , unions and companies can’t guarantee you anything.

Airtasker is a brilliant concept developed with a brilliantly functional and aesthetically pleasing foundation of the mobile app and OS browser system. I’m guessing they have some sort of genius tier engineers working for them.

I use Airtasker for my business, and while this platform is extremely helpful, the Airtasker fees are ridiculously high. I end up having to pay 15% over my budget (at a minimum) just to help the Airtasker absorb the ridiculously high fees they get charged to use the platform and then to be charged another 12% on top of that. Airtasker doesn’t really seem to take in to account that of on top of it’s huge Airtasker fee that the Airtasker then has to pay income tax on top of the fee they take. While I think the platform is very good and I would commend the developer for creating such a great and easy to use platform to connect people to jobs and businesses, but the platform fees don’t really seem to take in to consideration that without the businesses and people being connected, there would be no platform.
I’m sure that like myself and many Airtasker’s out there would agree. If the fees were lower they would use it even more. Lower fees, higher, exponential volume, greater profits. It seems like a no brainer to me.

Used the app for a week observing and participating on bids. Has been reprimanded a couple of times for bidding lower than what was original job costs submitted by “Poster” When all this time of observing and participating on bids I have observed a lot jobs being won by “Taskers” who bidded lower than original amount. And was offering a free quotation on site. Having explained my side to the Support Cops they’re response was “Sign off and email that you understand our terms and conditions before we reinstate your profile” Excuse me??? Funny thing I noticed not only they take 15% or more of the task price you offer, if the customer after being happy with the job you completed decided to pay you more, these greedy people will take another 10% off of that too! If you are that consistent in taking money be consistent in applying your terms and conditions across the board! I am a week old registered business in your platform and you threaten me to not reinstate my account yet you allow people who should know better being on your platform for ages and are getting away with the same thing you try to enforce on me? Not a “rewarding experience” at all!
