Great … When it works

I’ve had the app for a few years now and it’s great for automatically putting savings aside, but there are often times when I want to see how I’m progressing and can’t, because of a system error, and “Please try again later”. Very frustrating. Nothings seems to change the error. Then, as it says, later on it’s fine. Wish they would fix this, or a competitor would produce a similar app with the three accounts, but with a lot less bugs.

4 months of serious issues and finally fixed

I reported an issue 4 months ago (late October) re suddenly no longer being able to update transaction dates for absolutely anything in the app. So bills, income, scheduled payments etc. Was seriously frustrating and disruptive! I spoke with a very caring customer service officer by the name “Foga”. She keep me informed weekly from then until only a few weeks ago when she moved on. She also lodged a complaint on my behalf as the issue was taking extensive time to be resolved. Honestly 4 months is not acceptable. None the less, the issue was resolved in the latest release yesterday and I can finally change dates within the app. I really do like this app and would struggle without it. It is very much “set and forget” and beats manually managing your bills. Have been onboard with it since day one and the biggest take away for AMP should be to prioritise updating these bugs when users report them.

Error riddled

After opening an account, I could login and see my account; next day, app told me I had no account. Called customer service who told me I still have an account, and there was ‘some issue on the backend’ but they will resolve by via AMP’s help desk. To their credit, it was fixed within 24 hours. But now, there’s another problem where upon login the app states “Sorry, something went wrong / An error occurred. Please try again.” To which you can only tap “Ok, got it”, and then it brings you back to the login screen.

FFS. This is supposed to be mobile banking from and with one of Australia’s largest and longest-lived financial institutions, and the app provides no specifics on the problem or a definitive timeframe for when it’ll be fixed, let alone an offer of a phone number (you’ve got to go and find it) if you wish to escalate the issue, and then furthermore treats it like some casual thing, like #yolo or ‘whatevs’.

The app demonstrates that customer service and customers’ convenience is a complete non-priority. If AMP can’t get this right, what more managing billions of dollars of society’s hard-earned money, and their wealth and prosperity?
