Love love love the Anylist App
I downloaded this app knowing I needed help in remembering shopping lists and to do lists. I did this thinking it would just sit there unused after a week or two on my screen like all of the other list apps I had downloaded every few months over the last few years. Oh boy was I wrong!
I found I have been using this regularly. It is very intuitive and user friendly. I love how I can just download recipes and shopping lists and then just cross them off and delete them. I love how it links to Siri and Alexa! These ladies tell me what I have on my to do list every day so I don’t forget things.
Definitely worth getting this. It is a very smart and well thought out app. I am very happy with it. Thanks to the guys who developed this. It’s like having my own PA in my handbag! Get it. You won’t regret it. (Next thing to add to my list of things to do - delete all of those unused list apps on my phone)
The best list app by far
I’ve had a lot of list apps over the years and this is by far the best. Easy importing of recipes and then making lists. Nice customisation and design is clean and easy to use. Being able to use in a browser as well as on a device is the best.
When you add ingredients for recipes to your list it also adds which recipe it’s for, this is especially good if you’re planning multiple recipes in one shop for a dinner party. Had to use a cliche but this app is a bit of a game changer for me. Love it.
Game changer for meal planning
This app is brilliant. We used the basic features for quite some time very happily, and either of us can sort out the shopping through the shared list. We upgraded last month and it is a game changer.... set up you fav recipes, copy the ingredients and the paste tool instantly populates the recipe for future use. We can plan out the meals and continue to build our list of weekly recipes. We love it!! We both work and it is money well spent. Only downer is the fact it doesn’t combine the same items between recipes. It is annoying to have multiple entries in the list for red chili’s!!
Developer Response ,
Thanks for the kind words about the app, and thanks for your support of our efforts!
Adding the ability to consolidate recipe ingredient items is something we’d like to do for a future update. However, doing it properly requires handling some potentially tricky cases. For example, should "1 onion" and "2 red onions" be combined? Probably not, but if it was "1 onion" and "2 yellow onions", maybe they should. Another issue is that you may still want to see the items broken out separately, in case you're at the store and only need to pick up the ingredients for one recipe. Dealing with inconsistent units is another issue (e.g., one recipe might call for 1/2 onion and another might call for 1 cup chopped onion). None of these issues are insurmountable, but making sure we get it right does take time.
For now, one thing that might help is keeping your list sorted alphabetically. That way, the individual entries for the same item will at least be next to each other. To sort items alphabetically, follow these steps:
