Download the new Arlo app to continue accessing your Arlo account, recordings, and settings. This app (Arlo Legacy) will only allow access to your account until September 30, 2019.
Your account and camera settings, and recordings, will automatically transfer over when you sign in to the new Arlo app. ("Call a Friend" for Arlo Smart subscribers, and mobile devices enabled for Geofencing, will both need to be set up again).
Once you download and sign in to the new Arlo app, please delete the Arlo Legacy app.

Pretty good system
I have had the new Arlo pro cameras now for over 7 months and haven’t had much issues. They work great for such an easy installation security system and the software interface is reasonably good. The geofencing is a bit buggy when adding a second person as it doesn’t work. I’ll leave home and it will switch to armed mode even though the added person with also geofencing added to the system is at home. Another issue is the WiFi range, I’ve had to bring the cameras slightly closer to the main hub as I found that if the WiFi signal gets below half it caused a few issues such as cameras not pushing video through even though it recorded. The scheduler was a bit tricky to figure out as I have it on schedule at night time, I have to add two schedule times as it cannot be set from night time to morning, hard to explain but you get the point. Also, I wish an outside mounting bracket could have also been supplied with each camera as I don’t use the magnetic type. One last thing, to me personally it’s a second or two too slow when coming out from sleep mode and suddenly has to record, but that could be my camera position and/or sensitivity settings. Overall I think it’s a great security system for what you pay and get compared to other professional systems.
Excellent Overall System
Lets be realistic, these beat 90% of the other systems in regards to quality, and are very easy to install. Netgear have packed as much as they possibly could into these little cameras, and you have a quality company to provide constant updates. True nightvision, motion detection, two way microphone, still photo shots, true 1080p, siren, and a very well designed app to control it all...but not everything is perfect:
- Netgear need to improve the response time of recording, i have seen many people mention this as well, this is not a problem when somebody walks to your door, or in your front garden as multiple cameras will record, but the delay is so significant that a car can almost pass the entire length of the house before all 3 of my arlo pro 2 cameras pick anything up, and you end up with a recording of the rear of the car leaving.
- Netgear needs to improve the distances the cameras can be mounted. We all know there are limitations with wifi, but this 100% can be avoided with a stronger base station. (Netgear, you designed NightHawk, surely you know best?)
Problems watching alert videos too often
I’ve had problems more often than I’d like for such an expensive system. Often, I cannot watch the video once I receive an alert. When it works, it’s good but when it doesn’t, you’re stuck unplugging and pairing the cameras again. How many times should I have to do that? The cameras are only 8 metres from the base station but the support technician wanted me to uninstall the camera from the top of my workshop and put it next to the base. Once you install the outdoor kit, this isn’t an easy option. Now I’m overseas and can only watch an alert video when the system feels like working. The reason it was purchased was so that I can monitor my shop while travelling so that’s a fail. Tech support cannot do anything until I return to disconnect and pair the cameras yet again. Of course, once I return, the free support will have expired and I’ll most likely be asked to pay a fee.
Bottom line, when it works, it’s good but there has been too many frustrating error messages on this expensive system for my liking. 2 stars is generous when it’s fails. 3 1/2 to 4 stars when it’s working. Perhaps check other systems out before investing such a large sum of money on a finicky system.
