Description
ASDetect enables parents and caregivers to review possible early signs of autism in their children aged younger than 2 ½ years.
With actual clinical videos of children with and without autism, each question focuses on a specific ‘social communication’ behaviour, for example, pointing, social smiling.
This award-winning app is based on comprehensive, rigorous, world-class research conducted at the Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre at La Trobe University, Australia. The research underlying this app has proven 81% - 83% accurate in the early detection of autism.
Assessments take only 20-30 minutes, and parents can review their answers before submitting.
As autism and related conditions can develop over time, the app contains 3 assessments: for children aged 12, 18 and 24 months.
Our early autism detection method is the most effective technique available to professionals to monitor early signs of autism and since ASDetect launched in 2015, this method has also helped thousands of families.
About the Olga Tennison Autism Research Centre (OTARC)
OTARC is Australia's first centre dedicated to autism research. It was established in 2008 at La Trobe University and its mission is to expand knowledge to enrich the lives of autistic people and their families.

App fine, content only partly helpful.
This app worked fine (although I didn’t use the videos), but it’s useless for identifying girls on the spectrum who don’t fit the “classic presentation”. Fine for boys (and girls) who are showing those typical textbook signs, but not the girls (and boys) who are exceptional maskers and have the often overlooked “girl” presentation of ASD.
Review
It is a spectrum for a reason. My son came up with low likelihood and is L2 ASD. He has a desire for social engagement but isn’t great at it. He makes eye contact and gestures but his autism affects his literal use of language and being able to contextually construct stories and sequence things. His a very typical markers but it isn’t always black and white. However, the quality of the videos are fantastic.
Amazing app
I downloaded the app few days ago and I can assure that the quality of the videos impressed me. the information is very clear. It took me to another level of understanding how a neurotipical and Neuroatipical children play. Thanks.
