AUS Rain Radar - Live Weather 4+

Great app

I have tried many weather apps and this is the best one by a long way. I have 3 locations saved in Australia as we travel to these areas regularly so good to see the weather there whenever needed. Never once has it crashed or been unavailable as many others do. The pin of these locations is very accurate. Only negative is that I can’t use ‘family sharing’ and have to purchase pro version for each device. Having said that, it is a very low cost app. Highly recommended.

Buggy

I installed & tried the app for a bit & really liked. I found it easy to navigate, nice screens & good weather info. So I decided to do right thing & since I thought I’d use this app more so than other weather apps, I paid $1.49. Well since then the app is misbehaving & not showing the weather maps properly at 128, 256 or national. Perhaps it is what is called ‘lag’. Can’t seem to get Helpful Hints up etc. what’s happening? I am using the app on iPhone 6SE.
Later update on app: I closed app down & left for a while & have now come back & everything appears ok once again. Can turn on & off map features, bring up helpful hints, swap between 128, 256 etc & back again. No bugs or stalls. So maybe the app just needed to reset itself after payment?? But I hope it continues to work cos I quite like it & will use it everyday.

Hi Onyakaz,

The doppler radars that generate the images you see in the app occasionally go down for repairs or routine maintenance. When this occurs, a backup doppler radar is presented while the primary is offline. This might explain why you were seeing different distance options for a short period of time.

Pathetic ads!

I understand and fully support app developers using ads to sustain their work. However, what I cannot tolerate are misleading, fear-mongering, and fraudulent advertisements like the one I encountered in this app. The ad read as follows:

DANGER!
Your iPhone was hacked after visiting an adult website and 78 viruses were found! If this problem is not resolved within two minutes, the viruses will delete all your contacts and photos, and the SIM card will be damaged! Please click the button below to get instructions to remove all viruses.

Let me be clear: this is utterly unacceptable. First, such an ad is completely baseless. You don’t know me, nor do you know anything about my online activities. Who visited what adult websites? And what evidence do you have to back up these wild claims? My phone will be erased? My SIM card will be damaged? Really? This is blatant scare-mongering.

To whoever is responsible for approving these ads, let me make this crystal clear: if you continue to distribute such defamatory and misleading content, I will have no hesitation in pursuing legal action. List these so-called “adult websites” for me, and we’ll settle this in court.

To anyone considering downloading this app: don’t. The app is plagued with ads that are not only intrusive but also full of deceptive spam tactics.
