Almost there.

I really like this game and want to give it a higher rating. It has beautiful visuals, great gameplay and a progression system that is surprisingly deep for a mobile game. But it has way too much grinding.
Having to do the same stages over and over again really gets old. All the stages offer you a choice of only a random item, skill points, enchanting crystals, experience or gold. And you need a lot of most of them to progress. It would be a lot better if you got at least 2 or maybe even 3 of these things at the same time. You do get a small amount of gold and experience every fight, but it’s hardly worth it. You also get a small amount of skill point when you do finally get a level.
It’s not all bad though, you get all of the characters straight up this time around and they all share levels and you can use skill points you win with other characters to put on there characters as long as you haven’t used them yet. You can also share gear between multiple characters of similar classes and the characters themselves are more varied then the last game with each one having different skills.
Overall it is a game that I feel is almost there, just not quite yet.

Close but not quite up to BH1 standards

I absolutely ADORED Battleheart. I played every class combo and spend probably 100 hours playing it. It was challenging, rewarding and charming.

BH2 is some of those things, but is lacking in certain areas that detract from it behind as amazing as previous BH games.

I WANT to love it but it’s just kind of...dull.

The new art style is pretty cool and looks great but I honestly preferred the cartoony style of BH1. It made it feel less serious and lighthearted, whereas the new (very handsome) style makes it feel more serious.

So my main qualms are :

1) It’s more grindy. You have to play a lot more levels to level yourself up between big boss fights. All levels are randomly generated, but there’s only a couple handfuls of enemies so it doesn’t feel as tense or challenging as BH1

2) No “choice” with skills. This one is my biggest gripe. In BH1 you had to often chose between 2 different skills when leveling up that could make some very interesting and odd classes and encouraged experimentation. In BH2 you get talent points and spend them. No choice, no exciting “oh I didn’t think that would work so well!” combos, just grinding the points to get all talents.

3) It seems very easy. I’m sure I can ramp the difficulty in the settings but playing on normal I’ve not had a single pawn get knocked out, let alone lost a match. Not a heap of challenge.

Great but

The game is great and I completely the game. The new features are cool. The legendary chest box is really nice. I dislike how my party is maxed out at 30 I missed absolutely destroying everything with a single hit.

I would recommend this game to anyone who liked the first but just be carful don’t expect the same experience as the first
