Unbelievably good.
I've been using Bear for about 3 years and I cannot live without it now - it's the only app that makes me want to write things down because the experience is so ridiculously good. No other apps even come close to the writing experience, the awesome tag organisation, the speed of syncing, export features, the beautiful themes, the privacy, the... Okay you get the point. I could go on for hours about how good this app is, but you should just try it and see for yourself.
I was skeptical about paying a subscription for a note taking app, because that honestly sounds ridiculous. But Bear astonishingly makes it worthwhile, and at the very least you know you're supporting the future development of this awesome app, ensuring that it will be around for many more years to come.
They just added note encryption and the ability to lock the app, and I hear that a web version is coming soon as well - they are constantly adding valuable new features and this is why I will continue paying monthly for what is truly my favourite app of all time.

Brilliant app!
I don’t normally write reviews, but Bear for me is worth it. It’s an amazing app that keeps all your notes super organised and easy to access. I use it for writing notes, random thoughts/ideas and even for school work as it made it so much easier for me to check what was learnt the previous lesson and quickly switch to and from each note - much more effective than having multiple documents open at the same time! It’s also a lot less daunting than a blank white document so I often got more work and writing done as a result. The word count is really helpful, as is the read time. I don’t think it’s too expensive to buy Pro, however a pay-once option would be nice, and it is unfortunate that you can’t sync between devices without paying for the subscription. But luckily, the app still works beautifully without Pro and I continue to use it daily. Overall, a brilliant app!
Fantastic, take my money!
I don’t understand how people complain about the pricing model when you get a robust note taking app for free. People need to put things into perspective: the subscription model (for a year) costs roughly the same price as 5 cups of coffee. I enjoy my coffee for 10 minutes whereas this app I enjoy on daily basis.
I send everything to Bear from everywhere - phone, iPad, Safari. The classification using tags is a brilliant idea and makes moving things a breeze (try moving things on OneNote!). It feels so solid and robust, it’s just there whenever I need it without taking a long time to show me what I want unlike others (I am looking @ you, OneNote).
Support great app development…I know subscription pricing models don’t appeal to many, but with the amount of time this app saves (especially time I spend researching note-taking apps) it has already paid for itself many many times.
