Studying the Bible shouldn’t be hard. Bible by Olive Tree equips you with easy-to-use Bible study tools and resources so you can stop skimming Scripture and get answers—for free.
Here are 4 ways you’ll be set-up for studying God’s Word:
1) NO WIFI
That’s right, you don’t need a WiFi connection to access your Bible, audio Bible, or any other Bible study tools. You could be in the middle of the Amazon or on top of Mt. Everest. If your phone is working, so is your offline Bible app.
2) MORE THAN JUST A BIBLE
God has been speaking to His people, through His people, for thousands of years… and that takes some research to understand! This is why we provide 1000s of resources to help you go deeper into God’s Word—because studying the Holy Bible shouldn’t be hard.
And when we say “resources,” we mean:
-DAILY READING PLANS
-CHRISTIAN AUDIO BOOKS
-GREEK & HEBREW TOOLS
-AND SO MUCH MORE
3) TECH + DESIGN
Not only do we implement unique features into our app, but we do it with style. Our favorite is the split-screen window: The Study Center. You can use the Resource Guide tab to access any of the resources available in our app and read them right alongside the Bible of your choice. It even does all the hard work of tracking with you, verse by verse. Studying the Bible just became the easiest it has ever been.
4) CUSTOMIZE YOUR BIBLE
Want more highlighter options? That’s fine!
Pick your own color, thickness, and change it to underline instead.
Have trouble reading small print? Increase the font size!
Reading at night? Change the theme to be easier on your eyes.
Want to listen safely while you drive? Turn on drive mode!
You can save your favorite passages, drop a book ribbon, create a note, add tags, and sign up to receive a daily Bible verse. Best part? Your highlights, notes, and resources sync between all your devices.
If you’re wondering about our different English translations, this app comes with NIV, ESV, KJV, NKJV and more. Speak a different language? No problem! We have Bibles in Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, French, and others.
We also have other popular translations available for in-app purchase!
Here are a few:
-The Message (MSG)
-New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
-New Living Translation (NLT)
-The Passion Translation
-Christian Standard Bible (CSB)
-New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Our passion is inspiring you to connect with God and His Word through technology. Not only is this a free Bible app, but we also have 100s of free resources—all day, every day.

...switching books is STILL not intuitive for me, and it’s been nearly a year since they changed how you do it. You have to tap to make sure the toolbar is showing at the top, then you have to tap the special little book icon. Confusingly, you can’t tap the book name to change book. I thought this was a little niggle I’d get over, but it’s been so many months and still every day I have to figure it out. It’s really poor UI design and I hope they fix it.
Other than that I love the app. I’ve tried Logos software but it was just way clunkier and more complex than the lovely interface of Olive Tree. I read the Bible for 1-2 hours a day on this app on iPhone, iPad and Mac and I really love it! The pop up windows and split window features are awesome and so much better than the weird way Logos handles it, IMO. Praise God for having his word in such a convenient form!!!
A Very helpful App.
I find the Bible Study+ App to be very useful. With its easy to use interface and a great range of functions it provides good value for money; compared with other bible applications out there.
It is not proscriptive in the manner it can be used and the copy and paste function makes both the preparation of teaching messages, and also book writing, a lot easier than previously having to physically transcribe the texts themselves.
Additionally, the ability to swap between translations so quickly and with ease makes comparative work so much easier.
The only drawback I have encountered is the inability of the app to continue downloading while I get on with other activities on my device. This is particularly peeving in situations where the internet connection is slow; it can feel that the device has been hijacked and I find time wasted where I could be doing other things.
With all of that the ability to continue the same work across multitude platforms, with the sync function, means that I can continue to work with other applications on MacBook, iMac and iOS devices easily.
However, 5 stars I am happy to give it; a well thought out app at a reasonable price.

Big News...big disappointment.
I’ve used Olive Tree Bible for many years, it’s the very best I’ve ever seen. I use it on iPad and iPhone at home, in church, for daily readings, sermon preparation and from the pulpit.
While this remains my favourite Bible to read and study with, the latest update was expected to be big, as billed with some fanfare, but to me is a BIG disappointment.
I like the idea of audio Bibles, I used one 40 years ago, the KJV spoken by Alexander Scourby, the best Bible reader ever, and this was on cassette tape.
However, this “audio Bible”, from a brief audio sample is “dramatised” with distracting sounds effect and music, and acted by some well known actors like Malcolm McDowell of Clockwork Orange and Caligula fame.
To listen to this audio Bible it seems that a heap of cash needs to be laid down for some audio Bibles, rather than reading (hearing) what has already been purchased.
The other “big” new feature is a grid pattern which allows one to see your next purchase in a living colour thumbnail.
I would have rather seen priority given to writing and saving study notes that are better organised and more intuitive to use.
It seems to me that the emphasis is sales rather than study.
