I had so much trouble with iPhone 14 pro max, not sure if the phone was also an issue but regardless …updates after updates did nothing but the last one (current one) seems to have finally sorted the issues, so it’s been painful but seems to be going good and I’m not connected to cloud but able to see cameras, download vids, change settings etc

I think BlackVue should have a cloud system but pay a small one off fee, not $20 Aussie dollars a month ..for that, I’m happy to at least be able to connect camera as it should be

I have never felt so compelled to leave a review — but the BlackVue app is an absolute disgrace to your brand. You are selling premium dash cams for hundreds of dollars, promising reliability and security — and yet the app you force your customers to use is nothing short of predatory, broken, and outright hostile to the very people funding your company.

Every time I urgently need footage — the one reason people buy your product — the app fails. Instead of helping customers, it aggressively pushes spammy subscription traps and dark patterns designed to trick users into paying for services they neither want nor need. Basic functionality is locked behind confusing prompts. Critical moments are lost because the app simply doesn’t work unless you dance through hoops designed for profit, not for the user.

This is more than just a bad experience. It’s a betrayal of trust. It’s a dangerous risk to your brand’s reputation and invites serious scrutiny from consumer rights groups, journalists, and review sites. I will personally be writing a detailed article documenting every anti-consumer practice in your app — and encouraging others to do the same.

You have two options:
- Fix the app to prioritize customer needs.
- Continue on this path and watch your reputation (and eventually your sales) collapse under the weight of public backlash.

Whoever is behind this app must be an absolute narcissist.

The 750x camera has worked fine for the 3 years it has been installed but connecting to it from my iPhone is an absolute nightmare. With the old app I would have to power the camera off and on multiple times until it would eventually connect and allow Firmware updates etc. The new app will not connect at all for me to see the videos or perform updates, even though the phone connects to the camera wifi. In desperation I connected the SD card from the camera to my Mac computer and I can see the videos BUT the GPS and speed don’t show. It displays a map of the USA, I am in Australia! I am deleting all the apps and will just run the camera as-is and hope I don’t need access to those videos. Never again, goodbye BlackVue.
