'Blanks' is a simple application helping you to learn new English words. It shows you word definition and gives 4 choices as answer. Select one of the choices by dragging it on the hole in the paper. If you are correct, a green hock is displayed. If the selected word does not fit to the definition, you will see a red cross. The word definitions are from Wordnet. The application developer is not associated in any way with Wordnet.

Great game, needs an update

This really is a great game of "reverse dictionary" and is a great timewaster, however after running the app several times it has become apparant that the questions aren't selected randomly, rather they are all asked in order, this can become annoying to have to go through what can be a large number of questions to find a new word. apart from that, this app looks great and plays really well.

This is a great, fun game to add a bit of vocabulary to you. I play it often and learn a few more words. It is amusing at times because you have to randomly select words if you don't know them. Often, I have found out the right word by common prefixs and synonyms.If you want a light fix of education in a fun way, then I suggest this.

Having been one of those bookworm type kids I love word games. This one is great for filling in waiting time and keeping your brain active at the same time. The only thing that I would suggest is highlighting the correct answer when the wrong one is chosen so that it is an actual learning tool too.Great work!

the last update improved this app considerably by allowing you to retry when you got the answer wrong. Future improvements could be for the percentage of words correct to be saved as data for next time, so you can track your progress as you go.

Blanks is back. Version 5.0 is a ground-up rebuild for modern iPhones and iPads — the same classic game with the torn-paper look, now faster and more dependable. Long definitions scroll, VoiceOver works throughout, and the tip jar behaves properly again. Thanks for playing!
