Bowers & Wilkins Headphones 4+

Even though I'm connected to the headphones, and indeed playing music, the app loses connection at least once a day. I constantly need to delete and re-add the same pair of headphones. This seems to always happen when I switch on low power mode on my iPhone 11 pro but happens at other times as well. Very frustrating as it is the only place to see the charge level of the headphones and to change the environment filter. I see others have the same problem and I have tried all of the suggested fixes to no avail.

Rest assured our software team are very aware of the issue and are working away in the background to investigate the root causes. Low power mode deliberately reduces background activities and idle connections to reduce battery drain. This app has never really worked over the last few years. In a newer twist, it now has managed to have the same pair of headphones listed twice (would’ve thought IDs were unique but hey), but can’t connect to either of them, and has also forgotten the product has been registered. So I could register them 3 times, or none, but good odds if I do they won’t remember the registration anyway. Here’s hoping warranty’s never needed.

(Update: October 2023, it hasn’t got any better, just buy something else.)

Almost never connects even when the device is connected to my phone. I’ll look at ratings on an app when choosing my next headphones. Given the app is how you do a lot of control over the device this is a major flaw that they’ve failed to fix. I’ve owned a pair of floor standing B&W speakers for 20 years and love them. This experience has shown they’re out of their league in personal audio.

For what these cost it’s not worth it.

For any BT-le app communication, we would initially suggest rebooting your phone and reducing multi-tasking, including streaming, just when trying to connect.
