From time to time, the Canary auto-mode switching feature may briefly access your GPS in order to have high confidence in your location. Battery life is very important to us and we do many things to ensure we use it sparingly. Please be aware that continued use of GPS services running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Buggy

Since the latest update I've been having problems with location based arming and disarming. Also trying to edit the location hangs the app.

Likewise trying to edit (or just going to the screen of) the emergency numbers hangs the app.

Other bugs I've reported still haven't been fixed. Quite disappointing.

Reliable

I’ve been using my camera for about 5 years. In that time it had been totally reliable, unlike my experience with cameras from 2 other well known brands. Only negative - the adware that was recently put into the app is extremely annoying.

Do not buy any Canary device

In the beginning it was a good product with nice app features, now everything has to be paid for and the app has become an adware.
If you’re thinking of acquiring one, I’d recommend you to avoid Canary at all costs!
There certainly are much better similar solutions.
