kinda works, but doesnt save time

i had high hopes for this, and hopefully they come out with better more intuative updates.
Its not super easy to use and I wasted more time fixing the generated texts and trying to get the right look, than it would take just to put basic text up there for every word. At this point i would say, Save your money... but Brian Murray, if you can fix it and we can preview text easier, it would help

Developer Response ,

Hey, there is definitely some experimentation when figuring out your style, but once you do it once you can save the style and use it whenever you want.

Deal breaker - Inconsistent timing

I tried 'Caption For FCP' first as it is 1/2 the price. While it works well but I was keen on 'Captionator's' additional features like karaoke mode, so gave it a shot.

Unfortunately Captionator's timing is very inconsistent, and 1/2 the clips need moving... this is a deal breaker, so I'm refunding for now.

Get this issue sorted out Brian and I'll give it another shot in a year, or when I hear reports of it being fixed.

Developer Response ,

There is an issue in the underlying whisper engine that can cause misalignments over silent parts. We are working on a fix. The Siri engine does a better job with timings.

Disappointing

I bought this to help speed up my workflow, however it has done the opposite. I had great hopes for this after seeing reviews on YT - alas, the majority of the captions require editing, many overlapping. Frustrating.

My process will now be to export out the video, import into Davinci and use it's excellent captioning.

Professionally, this is not a system I can rely on.
