A true time waster for the right reasons
This game is so simplistic yet complex, incredibly fun and super aesthetic. The sprites and the music mixed along with the fun power ups and characters makes this game such a joy to play. I find myself playing almost every chance I get to because it’s so addicting!! Looking forward to future new background maps, possibly new characters and more power upgrades!! 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow thank you!
Honestly peak mobile gaming
TL:DR the game is an endless runner with rogue like elements to it and it’s got a lot of love put into it so go play it It’s genuinely been a long time since a game has clicked so well with me like this. Even out of the games I have played and loved in general, I’ve rarely ever left reviews for them, let alone for the mobile games I’ve played (and listen here the app store crashed on me so I had to rewrite this whole review so I hope the devs see this) I would describe the game as an endless runner (duh) with roguelike elements. I mean, the game gives you upgrades at every checkpoint, and gives you money throughout the level so you can spend it on upgrades and the like, as well as the fact that everything goes away after you lose all your lives. Sort of like a mini reset. The presentation of this game is really consistent and it knows what it wants to be. The music is absolutely amazing and I would listen to it any day of the week (hope the devs publish it online or something at some point <edit: they’ve done it already!!>) and it really gets me excited throughout the level. I also love the fact that there are unique tracks for the different types of land we move on. The visuals are adorable (I’m a sucker for good pixel art) and I love the hats so much. The characters you play as are also really cute while also being unique to each other both in design (I love Pickle and Chiki especially) and gameplay (more on that a bit later). I also did notice that Ronnie the cat was based on a real life pet and I have to say I can tell that he was loved, given he was immortalised into a video game I can tell was given a lot of time and care. It does remind me of Missile from ghost trick, a character that was based on the creator of that game’s real dog. Also wanted to mention that the orange flying enemy with lil ear flaps reminds me of a scarfy, a Kirby enemy who also happens to be a orange flying enemy with lil ear flaps. Not to mention the jester hat gives an eerily similar colour palette to Marx’s hat from Kirby superstar. I have no idea if this was intentional or not but I refuse to call the orange guys anything but scarfies lol. I also want to touch on the shopkeepers which each have their own distinct personalities and designs along with their own unique stock that gives you something different. For example there’s Momo the squirrel who sells these gacha capsules (one of two of her unique items) and gets excited when you buy one, with different reactions to each kind of prize. She also gets bored if you just buy the apple and gets annoyed if you leave while still having enough money to buy more of her goods. She also makes funny little self aware jokes like the one about the shop music. I don’t want to ruin the fun for anyone who wants to meet the shopkeepers for the first time on their own but I will say my favourite shopkeeper Is Morgan the bat. No matter how many times I buy from this guy only to end up in the abyss because of his stuff I keep coming back to him. I think he’s great lol (also I did notice that when you buy an upgrade onto an item from him, the music that plays is the vampire motif/ taccota fugue in d minor I believe which I absolutely love) Now the gameplay is really fun, it’s the type that is really simple but can also house some pretty crazy strategies. The difference between the characters attack and play style is something I really enjoy. They’re really unique from each other but at the same time balance really well together (as in not one of the characters is overpowered compared to the others) I also appreciate the different play styles because it can offer replay ability which I consider one of the most important parts of a mobile game. The enemies and obstacles are also unique and fun and can change up the game quite a bit, not to mention how each type of environment has its own little quirks. It was so much fun finding the sky area for the first time. The moment I found out how to get there I straight away thought “WOAH THATS SO COOL” and that just made me like the game a lot more. The difficulty of the game is done really well and I think that the game is really good at making the player know that the fact they lost was their own fault and not the game having a weird bug or glitch, one thing I value in almost all of my favourite games. I also wanted to mention how the game has its own ‘uniqueness’ as in just this extra stuff that gives it personality or more enjoyability. I do like the stats screen a lot, it’s fun seeing the numbers to put in perspective how I’ve played the game and my biggest weakness and strengths in the way I play. I also love the teapot. When I first found out you could just give tea to other shopkeepers I got super happy and would get really upset when I lost it. I also love the fact you can destroy the signs I do it every single time lol. I still haven’t discovered everything in the game yet but I definitely plan to keep playing and find out what more there is. It’s a genuinely fun game, a kind of mobile game experience I haven’t had in a while out of the recent ones I’ve seen. But I absolutely love everything in this game, it’s amazing.

Thanks so much for your review! The Jester Hat is indeed inspired by Marx :)
