Chunky supports CBZ, CBR, CBT and PDF comics, and understands ComicRack and ComicBookLover tags.
It can browse and download directly from iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Transporter, Google Drive, OneDrive, Amazon Cloud Drive, Box, Pogoplug, Mediafire and Copy, and you can copy files in and out with iTunes on your computer or download them via the built-in web browser.
Upgrade to Pro and it'll also connect to Mac or Windows shared folders, FTP or SFTP servers, ComicStreamer, Calibre or Ubooquity libraries, and run a mini web and webDAV server you can use to copy files in and out.

Needs some love
So glad this is still being maintained but it sure could use a bit of love. At the very least fixing the little things like icon misalignments world be great. Shame the dev gave up on iPhone app as a sync reading experience would be great. Also would be nice to be able to edit metadata of comics as that seems a bit tricky to do anywhere.
Easy to load comics from various sources and found it to be better than others. My fav comic reader on iPad.

I’ve tried a few comic readers on both the iPad and iPhone. This is easily the best. Ad free and so easy to use. I can import all my files so quickly.
Also it works really well. Page turning, brightness, etc are so intuitive to use.
On top of that it arranges my collection of comics in visual order. I can see what I have in my collection and it looks great.
Definitely recommend this app if you’re into comics.
Fantastic comic reader
Bookman was my favourite comic book reader on the iPad. The developer never updated it to 64 bit so it became unusable with iOS 11. I spent hours trialing free comic book readers and all had annoyances in one form or another. I finally came across Chunky. I've only been using it a few days, and I can't fault it. It's clean, ad free and allows tilt zooming. I like the grouping feature to organise my comics with.
