This update FINALLY fixes the bug when creating new items.
We are genuinely sorry this took so long. As someone who relies on Clear daily myself (Phill, if you wrote into support) it was anxious every day we didn’t have this fix out, understanding what you all were going through.
Thank you to everyone who wrote in and helped test the fix update. I think we received dozens of screen recordings of the issue! There were so many support emails. It was stirring how many of you still care for this little app.
P.S. For those of you who are more early adopter types and use it mainly on the phone, or were excited when we announced years ago a new version in the works, you can reach out at the support link listed on this page for a TestFlight invite to the new Clear.
Ratings and Reviews
With its clean, colourful interface and intuitive swipe controls, Clear makes managing to-do lists across multiple devices lightning-fast and almost effortless. Its rainbow-hued checklists are like miniature works of art, making it simple to tell at a glance what you need to do and how urgently you need to do it. Bells? Whistles? Nah, but that’s by design. The developers knows that creating a to-do list is about managing chores, not creating new ones.
Great app, but iCloud Drive syncing undependable
I consider Clear to be the best todo list and tracking app that I have used! While I have used it, I used it on my iPhone, my iPad, and my Macs. It is the simplest, easiest app of its kind to use!
Sad to say though, I have had to stop using Clear because after the introduction of ICloud Drive, the syncing between my devices is so sporadic that I can no longer depend on it to be done in a timely fashion amongst all devices. What troubles me the most about this is that my other 10 or 12 apps that use iCloud drive work just fine, so I do not understand why the folks who maintain Clear cannot do so as well. During repeated reports of this problem to the developers, I cooperatively tried every recovery methodology that they suggested; all to no successful/continuous remedy of my reported problems.
Clear developers: when you get iCloud Drive working properly, then I will be back because as I say, the Clear app is the best todo list app out there so all you have to do is get your iCloud Drive syncing working properly and consistently for me to use it again.
Fantastic! And with a few tweaks...
Love this app! I use it every day and have done for many months: from long term goals to temporary lists I might need for just a few minutes. iCloud syncing works well between iOS and OSX; though sometimes it inexplicably turns off and asks to be re-enabled (I haven't lost anything once they re-sync, though). Very aesthetically pleasing. Two features would be welcome to me:
1. The ability to nest lists within one another (e.g. Shopping>personal/work/long-term)
2. Select list/lists to show in Notifications Center without needing to set a reminder; and be able to compete tasks from the Centre (say, by ticking a box on the right of the item ('agenda+ | calendar & reminder widget' does this really well). So a new menu in the settings layer where you can select which lists to show in the center would probably do the trick.
One final thing which would be nice but not necessary: different themes for each list as desired. This would work well if you could nest lists within one another.
Overall I love this app, and as stated I use it very regularly. Hopefully you guys appreciate the constructive criticism and the praise :) Keep up the great work!
