Finally. A Hassle Free Monitor
I stuffed around with a few free apps, or trial apps and just had trouble pairing, with 3G and with support to getting back to me. Downloaded the Cloud Baby Monitor today and it just works. Straight away, straight forward, does everything you want it to, no more stuffing around! I don't have a baby.. well I do.. a baby chihuahua. I have my old iPhone monitoring my lounge room. My iPad pointing out into the courtyard. I'm at work with my newer iPhone and via 3G i can access both devices at home and check whether Poco the chihuahua is sleeping angelically or barking at the neighbours. And this is just day 1. I'm going to be using this set up a lot! I can think of lots of different fun and useful applications. Thanks Martin, for making something smart.
One flaw: Night time sound lapse
This app is easy to use with all the practical features you need in a baby monitor.
However, I’ve noticed one major flaw since the beginning: when using the app for extended periods of time (which tends to be overnight when you need it most), the sound transfer drops out. I’ve had several experiences where I’ve been woken from alert sounds (little ‘dings’) on the parent phone to say “activity detected, activity detected” and when I get up to check baby has actually been crying quite hard and loud — yet this sound isn’t being transferred to the parent monitor (only the activity detection is being transmitted). So unless you are using the night light there’s no way of knowing just by using the monitor if your baby is simply stirring or if they are in fact awake and crying. Not to mention the alert sounds for he activity detection aren’t that loud ... so who knows how long they were going on before I actually woke.
Wifi in the house is perfect and signal bars were always strong. I tried a number of trouble shooting options with no luck. I don’t have the night time trust so I’m gonna have to try a different app.

Hi Rummmiiii, thanks for your review and sorry for the troubles. When you hear the three dings, the parent unit lost the connection with the baby unit and was not able to recover it. This always points towards bad wifi coverage at home. Please watch the signal indicator on the parent unit top right to see how many bars you get. It should be all 5 white bars. It is not uncommon to install multiple wifi routers around the flat/house to provide good and reliable wifi. The app is only as good as your home WiFi. Great Overall
Works just like it should. Set up was easy and so much better than other apps I tried with free trials etc. A one off payment gets exactly what you need. Just remember phones have no night vision so a bit of light in the room helps although you can turn the phones flash on to see what is happening from the app if you use the rear camera. The front camera is great because the screen lights up with soothing scene and that offers light but was a bit distracting for our little one. Have your AirPods in while you walk around and hear everything in the room without having to watch a screen much better than lugging around a baby monitor.
