Compass 4+

Couldn’t understand why the compass was locked and wouldn’t move forgot that the phone case has a magnetic in it, worked well once I removed the case

On Christmas Day we were travelling SE to a rural out of service town to visit family. We were relying on the compass app to help navigate the windy weather and make it there safely. HOWEVER as we were using the app we noticed it was saying we were heading N. This is an issue because we were indeed heading SE. We cross checked this with our Mitsubishi Outlander which proved to us that the compass app was incorrect and showing the wrong direction. Please Apple if you are the great company you claim to be, Please rectify this issue ASAP before someone loses their life trying to get back to safety while lost. This is not acceptable and is a serious risk to your customers. I must say however that the UI and design of the compass app is very good, just a shame it doesn’t show the correct direction.

Great app.. a little too simple and boring. Can I request the option to input a known location, even to lock in a place like my house.. then at a different location have Compass with an orange needle point in the direction? Indicating altitude difference, distance and direction? I type in Rome, or Las Vegas and an orange arrow tells me where it is by direction, distance etc. Same for a restaurant as an extra, maybe or a sports stadium, airport, train station etc. I’ve always wanted to request this feature . Thanks.
