Crossword Light 4+

I love the usability of this app. What stalls me is the misuse of numbers after the clue. If an answer is more than 1 word I would like it displayed as such. i.e. if an answer is 8 letters long but contains three words then I would like it to show as: (5,1,2). That is what I am used to when playing crosswords.

The crosswords are somewhat cryptic in nature. Personally, I am not a fan of cryptic crosswords, thus my review reflects this. The description does not mention this fact, and I felt the clues and solutions alike are suited towards American users, with many involving the names of American sportsstars (often unknown to non-American users).

The clues are often misleading, which often left me simply putting in every letter of the alphabet until it was correct. Consequently, I found these crosswords a burden, rather than a challenge. Many clues asked for abbreviations of words, which begs the question, if it is not a common abbreviation, how is one to know which letters are used?!

I did like the visible progress bar for each puzzle, however, unfortunately, for me, the bad outweighs the good.

Not very clever. Clues don't make much sense non-americans.
