Plan Your Week
With your favourite recipes on hand, Crouton makes it very easy to plan your meals for the week (or even long into the future). If you’re stuck for ideas let Crouton automatically generate the meal plan from your dinner recipes.

Step by Step Mode
Crouton offers a unique step by step mode. Focus on one step at time as you cook, you can tap on ingredients within a step to get the quantity (saves you jumping back and forth between the steps and ingredients). With hands free mode you can move between steps without touching your device! Perfect for when you have messy hands.

Start timers with a tap. Crouton detects times within recipes and lets you start timers straight from the steps. A convenient heads up display keeps the times front of mind while you continue to use the app.

Grocery Lists
Create grocery lists directly from your recipes, easily copy just the ingredients you need to your list. Integrates with Reminders for convenient access.

iCloud Sync
All of your recipes are conveniently synced between all of your devices using iCloud.

Everything I wanted in a recipe manager

I use crouton purely to organise and display my recipes, and it does an incredible job. It can import a recipe from a website, break it into digestible steps, scale and convert the measurements to suit any number of people AND then generate a shopping list. And it does it all without feeling over complicated or difficult to use.

To top it all off, last night I discovered it has FACE CONTROL. When viewing your receipt in the step-by-step format, just wink with one to go back a step and wink with the other to go forward a step. No more touching your tablet with greasy, wet hands that may or may not have just touched raw meat. Genius!

I recommend this to anyone who uses a tablet to store and follow along with their recipes. One of the few apps I own that I actually enjoy and look forward to using.

Very good app

Does exactly what it sets out to do with style. The UI is clean and intuitive, and the ability to share with household members is great!

Some minor bugs and little hitches still happen, but they’re not nearly enough to rate below 5 stars. Stunning work by the dev!

Exactly what i've been looking for....with caveats

So this app is exactly what i've been looking for, and easy way to store recipes in a structured way, to share with my family.

But, although it does the simple things very well, there's a couple of issues i've had that have stopped me from giving it 5 stars.

- When adding additional people to the Household sharing, I was having to delete and add all people again
- the recipe ingestion is good, but could be better, or give a warning if there's a site that it typically doesn't work with.
- I had a bug where it was continuously creating the "Groceries" reminder list even though i'd set it to a custom "Shopping" list
- and i think the Meal plan feature is great, but needs some i dont think it should be the default landing page on open (Just an opnion)

All in all i think it's a great app, probably just built by a single person, so i'm not holding too much hope for ongoing support, but there was no ongoing subscription fee...which was nice for a change :)

Developer Response ,

Thank you for the kind review! I’ll look into the issues you’ve mentioned.

I do hope to add the ability to reorder the sections so you don’t land on the meal plan if that isn’t as relevant

You’re right about being a solo dev, although no plans to stop support anytime soon!
