A must have app!

It’s a wonderful pleasure to be able to view such incredible artworks on my phone daily! The artwork images are of the highest quality and the accompanying text is always so insightful. Everyone should have this app.

New App is not a mature product.

I have had daily art for some years. A wonderful app. I have donated to the development of the new app and fed back my comments. A few drawbacks. The new product is slow. Loading favourites used to be instantaneous, now many seconds to load. The favourites used to tile in a beautiful screen where they could be seen and enjoyed as a whole. Now they are small like an index. The function has changed and depending on use, not always for the better. Links to museums are good but that is not the only purpose of the screen, we just want to see the images too. Some pictures now do not fill the screen, one of my favourites is cut off at the bottom. Landscape mode needs to be reinstated. Portrait only doesn’t work for some images. All these issues where fed back to the developers, but no reply and no corrections of the faults. Zuzanna, please do a side by side comparison and try not to lose good design in the new app in your quest for extended functions and more commercial linkages. The app is still in beta in my opinion.

14 July update
iPad landscape now restored with latest update. Thank you!
But ongoing problems of such slow… loading of images. This is variable but mostly renders casual viewing a frustrating experience. And ‘Favourites’ remain like a book index - rather than a display of our enjoyable images. Still remains a step backwards but hopefully getting there..

Daily Art

Great - somehow, because it is ‘random’ as to whom you cover, it keeps one appreciating what does come up. If it discusses an artist you know that is great as you nearly always give a few interesting facts that you didn’t know. If it’s an artist you don’t know so well, you learn something new. If it’s of a period you are not really into ( Asian art for me) I do read a bit of it so I still learn something. And though I am a man, I do enjoy reading about female artists who were much ignored in previous eras. Some exciting coverage there.
I also like it when you cover excellent artists who were not the absolute pinnacle/famous ones - the coverage of Juan Gris the other day was fabulous - I have set exercises on J G for my art students since you reminded me of him.
I probably read about 3 out 5 each week.
Great work, keep it up please.
