Danalock Classic 4+

Between the (then available) automated lock systems when I researched an option, this was the only one that would suit a slimline 75mm stiled aluminium framed door (and associated lock and latch).

The parent company themselves are not very forthcoming nor helpful with queries and their online site was hopelessly confusing in both packaging information and pricing consistency.

When I finally sourced and installed one, the lock seemed to work rather well but their most recent software/app upgrade made it function less consistently, verging on useless. To the point where we all had to carry keys again instead of just our mobile phones. Sadly, older versions of the app that were more reliable and consistent in operation are not available.

Like the previous reviewer, I pretty much regret the purchase and the installation of the unit and the app.

Every time I come home I need to force quit the app and then start it again to recognise the lock and get in the house.
When the door is unlocked by hand (form the inside or outside with key) auto lock is not working, although once it did. You cannot trust the lock to auto lock upon leaving. Always wait until you hear it buzz.
After 5 days the battery is already down to 86%. These are not regular type batteries so stock up before it’s too late.
Without a key there’s no unlocking from the outside when batteries empty, no way to feed it power temporarily like many other locks can.

Maybe some of this can be resolved by firmware updates or other that would be good. The idea behind the while thing is OK.

I have now had this lock for 2 months and i must say i am puzzled how any company can release a product with such a bad app.
The lock is good easy to install and looks good.
But the app! It does not work, constantly need restart, takes way to long to connect to lock ( you can find keys much faster) and being Bluetooth the auto unlock/geofence feature does not work.
