Very nice and clean
I have used a number of mind-mapping programs....they all have different benefits and features but I can see that this one is likely to become my default. Really nice clean interface with a good amount of freedom to do things the way you want. Some of the other programs force you to do things in a certain way that sometimes is annoying. Took me about 5min to figure out how to do everything here and another 5 to see that you can really put together some nice diagrams. Very nice to work with a large canvas in full screen mode. Only minor complaint I have is the angle-line connectors do not connect in the centre of shapes so organisational chart layouts look a bit scrappy. Easy fix if you want to get that last, lovely star. But for certainly this is one of the best of the genre and, ironically, the cheapest. If you like using mind mapping type approaches to organising your ideas, this is probably the best place to start. Thanks for this. I can see I will use it a lot.
Good app
This is overall a good app, perhaps the best in it's price category.
Unfortunately it's lacking flexibility. For example there are only a few arrow options for lines, and some important ones aren't available.
Also there are some workflow quirks in the user interface that need to be fixed. Alignment guides only work for some drag operations. When you Opt-Drag to duplicatea node the new one doesn't appear where you drop it. When you select a group of nodes you can only change their appearance if you carefully avoided selecting any lines, which can be difficult. Double clicking to edit a line requires extremely precise mouse positioning to avoid accidentally creating a new node, and sometimes the edit panel appears for a split second, then vanishes with no obvious way to bring it back. Etc Etc.
Still, there are no major problems and this app does what I need.
Good app, almost great
Very flexible app for creating diagrams, I find it specially useful for brainstorming. It is really simple and easy to use, very clean.
However there are some small annoying issues:
- Need more print control, it is dificult to get a page to print in a desired size.
- Exporting as graphic needs to be better, there is no way to set a size and exports are blurry
- It is impossible to change the fonts of several shapes at the same time. - this is really annoying.
