Ratings and Reviews
Words Have Never Been So Fun!
Over the last 10 years my migraines have increased incredibly and are now so debilitating that when I am slightly well & brave enough to come out of my light and soundproof cave to try & do what needs to be done and I find myself grasping for words that were so easily accessible when I was living, breathing & striving particularly well through life.
I not only enjoy the ease of finding what I need, but I either learn something new or, I know the correct answers and you wouldn’t believe how much of a positive impact that makes to my day! 😊 I usually look at the previous days words as well, so I’m stoked that the app not only answers my queries, but engages me which is quite fulfilling.
Great

Delighted to hear how much you've been enjoying our app. Thanks for choosing our Dictionary.com app!
Your new update is terrible 🤬
Hate it, hate it hate it. The new version is too confusing and fussy on the eye. Too irritating to use. Will probably find a better app. You also ignore the British and Australian spellings. These are the correct ones. The American versions are a corruption. Why not accept both?
Having definitions and synonyms colour coded is good, but three columns with the text wrapped is painful on the eye and extremely confusing. Please put them back into one column, or two if you must. Three is too much for an iPhone. It is essential that you acknowledge the correct British spellings of words. It is American imperialism at its worst not to. There are hundreds of millions of people round the world who use the Queen’s English and do not know what the bastardised American spellings are. It would only be to your benefit to rid yourself of this Americocentric image you currently have.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about our American English Dictionary, and the latest update on our app.
To be clear, we are an American English dictionary, and do currently focus on the American English dictionary entries. Our focus is not a matter of 'American Imperialism', rather, that we are an American company, with an American English corpus of words to work from, and lexicographers who specialize in American English; furthermore, we have limited resources and do have to focus our business model. We hope you can appreciate that our small team is hard at work managing and updating the entire dictionary and thesaurus, building and maintaining our website and apps, answering our customers (like you), and creating the content our customers so enjoy. While we may offer some limited content, at times, we cannot commit to expanding more broadly to support an entire dictionary corpus of words from British-English, Australian-English, South African-English, Irish-English, Indian-English, or the myriad other delightful ways people around the world speak English!
That said, if you are looking for a British English Dictionary, we would take a moment to recommend our sister site, Lexico.com. Lexico is a dictionary partnership between Dictionary.com and Oxford University Press, where all the dictionary content is provided by Oxford Languages Lexicographers. While Lexico does not have a mobile app, you may find this website to be a better fit for your needs if our American English isn't to your preference, and should you prefer a British English dictionary.
Finally, we do appreciate your thoughts about the recent updates to the visual experience on our app. We appreciate your comments, particularly those about the synonyms and color coding. We are sorry to hear of the confusion with viewing, given the text wrapping. We'll definitely add this to your prior comments about the changes, and share them with our app team.
Thanks for sharing your perspective, and for using our app.
