It’s easy to start using Digital iD™ to prove who you are in person:
• Enter the details of two ID documents (including your passport or driver’s licence)
• Take your photo and verify it at a participating Post Office

Great app to verify my ID!
Digital iD is very easy to use. Verification process is simple and it means I only have to carry my phone (no physical ID) to buy alcohol and enter bars/clubs! I also didn’t have to go to a chemist each time to get photocopies of my documents certified each time I apply for a bank account/bitcoin exchange.
Waste of time
I downloaded the iOS app, verified documents at the post office, then started a police check. Police check could not be linked to the original documents I had verified! Went to the post office again to verify the same documents plus two more. Then the invitation to save my police check and 4 documents again would not link to the app and could not be saved. Deleted the app and used the “unique link” and the app wanted me to start from scratch a third time. I’m really frustrated, I don’t have time to go back and forth to the post office so many times. Why have the app if nothing links? Or warn the user they will have to do everything again anyway.

So the only way to purchase crypto currency is through identification through this app, and it’s so faulty that it completely fails to acknowledge valid ID. It’s so bad that it seems like it’s been done on purpose to prevent any Australian from purchasing crypto currency.
Edit: I did contact support and I was asked to “reach out to the issuing authority.” Sorry, but if my passport is valid and the name matches exactly my other details then the issue is not on my end. I have no way of resolving this when the app is at fault. The support team is of no assistance.
