  • Love the concept! Good execution with the app

    This platform offers the most comprehensive and current ID checks for core personal data. Will save 100s of hours of sharing the same old info across platforms. I just hope I can use this tool in future to update my address details across all service providers too. That would save another 100 hours when I next move house! I think this tool centralises the information that most people have plastered all over the web or that’s already been sold on the dark web. Had all my personal data stolen anyway so, at least now it’s conveniently in one place with DigitaliD!

  • Slick, but didn’t actually do what it promises

    I needed to redirect my mail which requires a Digital ID to be set up (if you can’t go into a post office). I installed the app and added my passport but couldn’t find my wallet right away to add my licence. Adding a photo was also required but I left that for the moment. Thinking that I would “connect” (auspost language) the app to the mail redirect site I thought I’d do that so it would be ready once I added my driver licence. As it turned out, it only checked that I had the app and not that I had my ID verified and progressed. I got my mail redirect set up after all (awesome!) but it seems anyone could do this (I’m yet to test). Also, there is zero EASY way to send feedback either through the app or through the auspost website. So, digital ID team...this is potentially kinda major...sorry it had come through this channel.

  • The worst App Ever!

    Poorly equipped sensor. It could not verify my photo. I took the my photo right there and then and uploaded it as my photo ID and at the end it wanted to verify that phot again which was really a stupid step. So I stood at the same location, same angle and same smirk and yet it couldn’t verify my freaking photo. Tried many times, still failed and now it wants me to get to a shop to have it verified. What an I convenience! This is why monopoly of public service is not good, it breeds incompetence. I wouldn’t even want to use this but I have to because I want to redirect my mails. And the application process is forcing me to use this crappy app. With my busy schedule and stressful week due to the move, Aussie Post, you have just made it worse! Sorry about the rant. I have been trying this so many times and still ended up fail. Please do better.

Just to let you know, when redirecting your mail, setting up your Digital iD app is an optional step, you can verify your document online without using the app. If you'd still like to verify your photo, you can do this at any time, even after your invite has expired.   • This ap is not fit for purpose

    I was trying to do an online mail redirection and I had to download the ap to establish my identity. However this requires a visit to a post office to verify the identity manually (I mean what Cretan thought of this novel idea?). So it completely defeats the purpose of the ap. Also when I went to the post office the ap directed me to I was told they couldn’t verify me and I had to go to a GPO. They said I should have just completed a redirection form with them. This is crazy stuff. So don’t download this ap. Just go a post office and do what you need to do there manually. All the frustration of this ap and time wasted is compounded by the fact that you have to pay for it !!!!!My response to Australia Posts response: Unless they have fixed the ap and the associated business process in the last 3 weeks the response by Australia Post is not accurate. The ap does not allow online verification. It commences a verification process only and it requires completion of the verification at a post office. It directs you to go to a specific post office. When you go there the post master tells you the information on the ap is wrong and verification can only occur at a GPO.

  • Poor design & incompetent support

    One of the accepted IDs is a Centrelink Concession Card. Since 2023 my concession card has been digital only with no expiry date, stored in the wallet of the Centrelink app. This is now the default for all concession cards. This ID app requires a valid expiry date to confirm and accept. Obviously this is impossible. I reported this as a defect a year ago but was informed that this is by design and they only accept cards with expiry dates which obviously means they will not accept the new digital cards at all. If you aren’t going to accept the card, why even have it as an option? Problems:1. Incomplete and incorrect requirements at Business Design phase;2. Incorrect specifications at Technical Design phase;3. Failures in Testing phases due to incorrect specs; and4. Gross incompetence by Support team in Production by not passing user provided feedback regarding an extant severity 2 defect back to the Development team.I don’t think anyone should trust this app to safeguard your private information when there is obvious incompetence at so many levels in the teams designing, building, implementing and supporting the product.

  • Clunky App, does not transfer across devices!

    This is one of the most poorly designed, clunky, and frustrating App to set up! But the BIGGEST problem with it, is that you cannot use it across different devices. If you set up an App/Account on your iPad, you can’t use the App on another device, or log into your account via the app on another device. You must delete your iPad setup account, and then completely redo your Digital ID account on your iPhone! Not only that, the ‘Date Wheel’ keeps crashing on the iPhone when you try to spin down to your birth year. If it is this problematic to set up and use, it shouldn’t be a problem for Hackers to crack!
