Diptic 4+

This app has the potential be quite powerful. My first thoughts were that it could be used to export page images for photobooks - however it is not quite at that level yet. The ability to customise layouts is excellent. However, the following points should be noted: (a) you cannot enter a layout size in real values (i.e., 600 x 800 px), rather you need to enter a ratio. This means the user needs to manually determine the ratio of a given layout. (b) you don't seem to be able to have a background image. (c) there isn't the ability to add text.

Now these are not necessarily a bad thing, the app is easy to use and, for the price point, is not trying to be a full blown page maker. However, with very few modifications, it could become a powerful application. Compare the basic functionality with FotoFusion Extreme - which retails for a whopping $300. Obviously not a fair comparison - but MUCH potential here!!

I really like this app except in the first 15 minutes it has crashed 5 times!

This is my favourite app to create little collages for my blog.

I just miss one functionality and it would be 5* …I would love a functionality to only have the borders between the pictures on the inside and not around the outside (as I use most of the collages on my blog it makes no sense for me to have a frame around the whole pic … At the moment I manually import the pic in a picture processing program and crop the outer frame away.

Otherwise it is the best programm to create collages … love the Aperture integration to just drag and drop pictures!

Update for the new version: Still my favourite collage app. Love the new text caption … great to be used for watermarks (now the next logical step would be to allow transparent gif/pngs for logo watermarks). The layouts are great … simple and effective … lots of other apps create too messy layouts … this is nice and clean! I am still missing my feature to remove the outer border and keep space between the pics. (so still a 4* app)
