Dododex: ARK Survival Evolved 4+

Great app, a suggestion and a question.

First of all, this app is nothing if not impressive. The sheer loyalty and devotion that it takes to create an app of good quality for one specific game is amazing, especially by one person. This app is also really easy to use and contains most of the information you need to play ARK, and what it lacks is made up for by the wiki.

I can’t think of any major problems that would cause me to lower my review, however, most of the animals don’t have much information about them in general, and it’s a bit inconvenient to keep going through the tips until you find what you’re looking for, especially when it’s just simple information like where you find them. It would be great if you could add a small ‘basic info’ page below all of the taming data in the info section, which could include where to find them, what people (could?) use them for and a bit about them.

Finally, the question: Will Dododex update to contain information from ARK 2 when it releases?

Wow, Thank you so much! I appreciate that! Regarding the "Basic Information" -- the issue is that Dododex is in 27 languages, so it would be very difficult to write out information about every creature, keep it updated, and make sure it's always updated in all 27 languages. This is why I added the Tips feature (which allows you to write in your language) and the categories on the "More" tab like "Gatherer" "Battle Creature" etc. since these are translated.

Do you think it's hard to find quality information in the tips? I've been constantly adjusting the algorithm to make sure new tips have a chance to shine, but maybe it's surfaces too many bad tips?

Regarding the locations -- that's located under the "More" tab. (Currently there's a bug with the ARK wiki where the map is not loading. I will be switching the links to ARK's new wiki, where the maps are working correctly).

And yes, of course I'll be supporting ARK 2. I have no clue what that means right now, but I'm planning on it! :)

Fantastic game one suggestion

Me and my brother both play ark and using this app is really helpful sometimes when taming high level dino’s but one thing i would like to see is when u go to an animal it would say what it is good for. For example sabertooths are very good for caves and i know this is hard to add but it would be awesome to see. By the way if this is already a thing please correct me lol😝 edit: please dont make me look dumb if this is already a thing lol i only use this app when im taming dino’s but dont get me wrong it is SOOO helpful🤠🤠
