Petty good

Petty good for what it is but it’s dose jump around and you need to go in and out of the app to reset to get a true reading has everything that you need I like you can put in what skins your running just see I own an Australian made kit I couldn’t find my kit

If it's within our means, we'd love to add that brand and your model to the app for you.
That way, you can use it in the future in your tuning presets!

We'd also like to gather some details about how closing + reopening the app would affect the reading. We'll look into that. We'll optimize that too, once we got your detailed input!
For now, our first guess is that perhaps you may reach the limit of your focus range of "edge mode", or "lock target" mode and that it needs to be refreshed when that happens.
(EG. When you lock target or are in edge mode, but change the tuning of the drum a lot, after a while the tuning becomes different and may reach the limit of the set focus range in edge mode. To refresh it, go back to center mode and redetect the fundamental, then flip back to edge mode to set the updated focus range, based on the last detected fundamental tone of center mode. )
(EG. When using lock target, and reaching the focus range limits, then release the lock target mode, redetect a pitch and reactivate lock target mode on the pitch again to update its focus range.)

The same would happen when you would close the app, and start it again: it would reset all ranges and you would start with a fresh and updated focus range. This is why we suspect, maybe the issue is simply indicating you may need to redetect the actual fundamental again, and flip back to edge, or may have to release and reactivate lock target instead of closing and opening the app all the way from scratch to achieve the same.)
It's a hypothesis we'd like to double check and possibly solve if needed.

Works super well - fantastic app!

I’m a pro drummer, bought this app while setting up a new kit to have a reference of which tones were working best on my drums. This app has really been super helpful and has really exceeded my expectations! The design is great, it lets you clearly plan out different setups and check the intervallic relationship between the drums, and I was really happily surprised by the accuracy and the reliability of the lug pitch measurements (it doesn’t get confused by overtones!).
I’ve found it super educational to use on drums I’ve enjoyed playing, to see exactly why they sounded so good, and it’s a really good tool to start replicating those sounds on my own drums.
100% worth buying for drummers :)
P.S. it seems like the negative reviews on here are just people who didn’t really understand what this app is for. If you want to learn how to tune your drums, this app has all the information you need.

More people need to know about this app. I was thinking about buying a $200AUD tunebot, then I found this and thought I’d give it a shot. You saved me $182… plus the fact that’s on iPhone means the UI and functionality is just miles ahead of the tunebot. It took me a little bit of time, but my drums sound better than they ever have.

Developers, thank you! Please also add Pearl’s new ‘President Deluxe’ series as a kit option.

If you update the 'brand & series' via EVEN MORE screen, from now onward, "President Deluxe Series" is available for configuration of your drum's tuning presets.
