It’s great.
Try their demo. I purchased this maybe 4 years ago and it's still excellent. Extremely fast to scan any disk including mounted volumes even network shares (AFP/SMB/WebDAV). It's also the cheapest option. I tried Gemini but it took longer and required many scans before it found every duplicate, and definitely wasn't worth so much more money. DupeGuru is free and does a decent job but I still prefer this app.
Good things

- displays number of files scanned in real-time
- visual cues indicate app has not frozen
- decent search and filtering
Bad things:
- be warned it is a very simplistic app and advanced users might not like the limited settings (take a look at their screenshot).
- doesn't display the number/percentage of files hashed in real-time
- doesn't show estimated time until completion
- doesn't allow selecting multiple results (with shift + click) for better control
- can't ignore directories based on keyword or title
Excellent program!
This does what it says, it digs deep to find all your duplicated files. Displays results in a super easy format so you can choose exactly what you want to delete. has an auto mode if your duplicates are easy to handle. Worth every cent and the best duplicate program I have used on the Mac (OS Sierra).

I’ve been copy mad for years, multiple copies in many places (just in case).
First time using Duplicate Detective not only sorted a couple of folders and their file copies (couldn’t believe the results) but also sorted out my phobia. More room, less obsession.
