Works well but could be more efficient for large libraries
Worked quickly to assess a 480GB library, although the auto-select rules didn't always work properly, which meant having to do a lot manually, which took a few hours of painstaking work.
It was a bit nervewracking towards the end - it doesn't appear as though you can save your work, and I was concerned it might get lost and need to start again.
Also, having a toggle button, to swap the choice, or even being able to click on the whole image square to select it (rather than the little check box), would make things a whole lot quicker. Lots of scrolling, nagivating with the trackpad and clicking.
It's good but take too much RAM
Your algorithm is good. I have to slide the bar to adjust how similar I wanted. I have to use external SSD instead of normal HDD for speed. One thing you have to consider is this program consumes most of your RAM while operting. I am using iMac 2020 with 40GB Ram. I have to close every other program to running only Duplicate Photos Fixer Pro and I got popup that I have No More Ram after running it for a while and it stopped working. Developer please look into this. Thanks
Works as described. A time saver
A nice little App at a good price. I had 12,000 photos from my old PC backups, MS windows and iPhoto libraries. Dumped all the photos in the main Library. Removed 1500 photos including similar photos. The process is a little cumbersome. It would be good to have this tweaked and shortened once you have become familiar with its operation. The app lets you adjust the level of similarity which I found interesting, revealing and helpful in helping me make decisions. Perhaps Apple could it incorporate it in “photos”!
