Good game

Good puzzle game! It’s very enjoyable but maybe a bit short or simple and I think there could be more levels. The story line could maybe be better but is still really interesting! Great puzzle game, especially for those who have enjoyed other games like agent a.

Terrible storyline and far too easy

I love point and click puzzle games. Machinarium (sp?), Agent A, Broken Age, inner world etc. I love a good challenge as gives the Room escape puzzles. Some have brilliant story lines along with fun but often challenging puzzles, gorgeous graphics etc. and some just give you the gorgeous graphics but no storyline... rather a set of increasingly challenging puzzles. They are definitely worth spending money on. You can get hours worth of entertainment, a fair amount of frustration but ultimately a sense of accomplishment.

This game on the other hand was not worth any of the money I spent on it. The storyline was pitiful at best, the graphics bland and nothing spectacular and the whole experience was just down right frustrating trying to find where you can and cannot click each episode. The puzzles were far too simple... it was just one after the last and really only one during any given episode. It has potential to be a great game if it didn’t treat the player like a 3 year old and actually made things challenging + wrapped up the story far better. What was that creature, what did the fox have to do with anything really and when and how did the creature appear, what was its motive etc.

I’m sorry this was just awful and I wish I could get a full refund for the money I spent on it. Oh well.

Short, fun, unsatisfying story

As other reviewers have said, the story is really confusing. SPOILERS. It’s difficult to care about any of the characters except maybe the kids who both get traumatised. Duncan sort-of gets the approval he’s been seeking, then goes hunting. Skull monster is ultimately meaningless, either freaking out or comforting the kids. Was the fox its pet? Is it the spirit of the fox? My iPad screen is covered in fingerprints as I spent most of the game tapping on inert scenery, trying to get to the puzzles. The puzzles were fun, if simple, and some I solved accidentally when I was trying to navigate. Where were the parents when Grandpa was bullying the kids? Why did only one window need cleaning? What was that wire thing in the basement? Why did Grandpa have so many weird locks and clues around his house? Who removed all the light bulbs, and drew on the mirror? Why did the trunk need the latches to be flipped in a certain order, and why was it necessary to fold and put away clothes, when the clothes could’ve been used to wipe the window? Having said all that, for any reviewers complaining about the price, if you don’t want to give a poor game dev a few bucks, buy yourself a deck of cards. You can’t say this game wasn’t worth the price of a coffee, like the world owes you free games.
