A very poorly designed app.

The equivalent Zinio magazine app is not perfect but it's a lot better than this. For example, this app will only store the current issue for offline reading. It is fine that I get access to back issues via web access rather than downloaded to my device for offline reading. However, as a minimum I expect every issue since the start of my paid subscription to be downloaded and available for offline reading. Incredibly annoying, especially if you haven't quite finished one issue when the next one comes out, and you aren't in a WiFi area and don't have 3G. Please let me read issues I have paid for!!!

Added to that the interface for accessing magazines via a text list rather than being able to preview covers is hardly making use of the iPad's capabilities compared with comparable apps.

Unfortunately two magazines that I want to subscribe to and are too expensive for an international postal subscription are only available through this app. I will be writing to them to try and convince them to move to Zinio.

Basically this app is a joke. I am struggling to think of any redeeming features. An infinite number of monkeys at an infinite number of computers with an infinite amount of time would eventually design the perfect iPad app. This app appears to have been designed by one monkey at one computer with only about 15 minutes available.

Magazines are VERY slow to download and once your subscription may expire, you no longer have access to magazines that you have not currently downloaded to you iPad.
All in all, very poor, would just prefer a Newsstand app.

I've been a subscription based reader of Wire Alternative Music for a number of years. My frustration with the print media industry is that it does not an offer iPhone based or compatible means of reading their products, and when they do offer web access it doesn't read on Mobile Safari.

Wire is available as a digital subscription, which I pay for, but had not been advertised as an iphone App. By accident I discovered this Exact Publications reader in the App Store.

It is a breakthrough App, with easy navigation. My only difficulty has been downloading the entire magazines, instead of previewing pages, as it seems to need high speed wifi access.
Once this App is refined for wobbly and lower speed wifi, it will be worthy of 4 stars.
