Fantastical - Calendar 4+

A beautiful and powerful calendar for all your needs

I'm aware of some controversy over the switch to subscription model, especially for a calendar app, and I understand the frustration. That out of the way, however, - Fantastical is one of the best apps for someone who needs a scheduler with a bit of power.

Firstly, the apps are right at home in the Mac and iOS ecosystem. They're well designed, they feel familiar, and they pay attention to the platform conventions and features (e.g their widgets on iOS are flexible and numerous)

Secondly, they combine this with intuitive, insightful functionality that at least for me personally has made a world of difference in both my personal days and my work days. I have to keep an eye on multiple work calendars through different providers (Google, Outlook, etc) - no problem. Meeting links in events and easy one-click joining for meetings? - done. Want to know what the weather is going to be like for your day out or heading into the office - it's all right there, together with tasks and reminders.

All that is to say, that as strange as it might sound to pay a yearly subscription for a calendar app, - if you're the kind of person that has enough going on to make sure it's all there for you at a glance on any device you come across - this is the app for you. Furthermore, their Cardhops contact app is also included in the subscription, and that app makes contacts a joy to deal with too, - so it's well worth your time and $$

A well thought out, powerful, and functional Calendar app!

I have been loving using Fantastical so far. It is a really well thought out and great app, and I am honestly a huge fan of it. I love a lot of the small features, like the different ways to view sets of time, or in viewing all of the tasks seperately on the side. And that is also one of my favourite features - the seamless integration of tasks with the calendar. It allows the app to be a really good planner and task app too, which I love. Seeing tasks laid out over time really helps get a sense of time and what I am aiming to achieve. Not to mention the task templates too. Overall it makes making micro planning really effective and doable. And it's available on so many devices too, which is also really awesome. My only small gripe is I wish there was a one off payment for lifetime membership option, simply because I love the peace of mind in knowing I own an app and don't have to worry about saving up or putting away any money for it. But if the subscription price is the price to pay for the developers to keep the app running and continue supporting it, then i understand and it is absolutely well worth it in the end.

Overall I give it an easy ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️/⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ stars, and I would highly reccomend it to anyone looking for an awesome calendar app they can rely on.

Massive Sync Issues

This is, by functionality, one of the best calendar apps out there. However it is plagued with sync issues that are seemingly unfixable.

I have contacted support to try and get their assistance with these issues, however their solutions did not work and the only solution that did work was a fresh delete and reinstall of the app - after which the issue just came back a few days later.

Despite the amazing functionality that has been built into this app - the sync issues render the app essentially useless since my mac and phone are giving me different alerts based on which one I input the calendar entry. I also have the premium version. Definitely an app to avoid while these issues are worked out.
