It’s a social network for anglers. That means lots of people posting pictures of themselves with shockingly giant halibut—and it also means the app is packed to the, uh, gills with tips on local hot spots, advice on bait and gear, and even the ability to ID any fish you’ve caught simply by snapping a photo of it.
Good app but some disappointing bits
Well I believe you should t have to pay for information on where the fish are biting they lure you in with a promise you’ll get the exact location of where the fish was caught but it’s not even close it gives you a general location nothing is precise. Also thier’s still unwanted posts from the app designers thy you cannot get rid of its nice to see so many keen fishos but I’d keep my money and use facebook to join people for fishing trips
Some secrets are best kept
I like this app, I wish people would keep secret locations to themselves though. I have learned of many fishing spots through this app that Could not sustain the fish population once everyone finds out about them. I have a local bream fishery in my home town that very few people knew about and since the location was disclosed on this app, people fish there everyday and most the people who fish there now probably have no idea how fragile that fishery is, (black bream can take 15-25 years to grow to a legal size depending on the water temperature and their diet)Your location marks should be area codes rather than exact locations. The claim is that this app helps gather data to help the fisheries but lets not inadvertently obliterate fish populations in the name of data.

Hi! Thanks for your review, glad to hear that you enjoy Fishbrain. I see the issue that you are pointing out, however we do promote catch and release which would not effect the fish stock for various waters. As you also point out, when you log a catch you can choose from three levels of privacy:
- Public: Show Fishing Location and Exact Position.
- Competitive: Show Fishing Location but Hide Exact Position.
- Private: Hide Fishing Location and Exact Position. All the best!
