I got my retired working dog a fitbark because I thought I wasn’t exercising him enough because he was barking quite a bit. I now know so much more about him thanks to this nifty device and have now bought several for friends and family and we all love watching to see how much our pooches are and are not up to (turns out my sisters 13yo border collie is not as lazy as she thought!). I learnt that my boy was getting plenty of exercise but is just very active for his age, and only barked at a certain time of day when I was at work (the woofing hour - when all the neighbourhood kids came home and there was no one to play with him). I can now manage him so much better around my work schedule and help him have a happy and active life. And when he’s overdone it I know to give him some extra dinner and go easy on him the next few days. Great device!!!

My Labrador is fairly active when with me, but when she has sleep overs at my sister’s with her little Cavapoo I can see her activity go up by easily 1/3rd. She was playing up, getting into the trash at hers (doesn’t ever at mine). Now we have the FitBark, we know to feed her 1/3rd more and she stays out of the trash because she’s adequately fed!Only thing I wish is that us Australians had the ‘GPS’ version. But it’s still awesome without it, if you know how to analyse data - and even if you don’t, you’ll get newsletters/emails/blogs on how to. For $110AUD it’s great value, and the support staff are quick

It would be a ingenious idea if only it had no sync problems. I have owned two Fitbark2 devices and I have had sync issues with both of them. Fair enough customer support is great and quick to reply, however I am getting tired of having to message them. Either will not sync or slow to sync far too often. Constantly having to restart my phone or follow other steps that support tell me to do. Another huge set back is it will not sync if you are away from home, so I can not see if my dog has had enough exercise before returning home! If we return home before he has had adequate steps we have to drive to the dog park or beach again where he can run. Tiresome. I cant show other dog owners how it records steps as I must be home for it to sync and give me the total of steps taken that day. No GPS capabilities for Australian users.

We were curious to know our dog’s levels of activity & rest whilst at work (she suffers from high separation anxiety due to trauma experienced as a pup before we owned her). This app clearly showed us that she paces non-stop & NEVER rests during this time. We were able to show our vet this data & put appropriate anxiety prevention/management strategies in place. Using this app, we can now track how effective these anxiety strategies are by looking for any changes in the data it collects whilst we’re at work. Love this app!
