You can choose to use either System or Fitzroy typeface for the stories. The Fitzroy typeface is particularly useful for students who are learning to print letters. It has longer ascenders and descenders, and letters like ‘a’ appear the way they are usually written.

Just what we needed to use with our child who was struggling with the school's 'predictable text' levelled readers. A synthetic phonics approach has gotten our struggling reader reading and he loves the Fitzroy Readers because he can decode every unknown word. He finally feels successful!
I am very impressed with these apps, however when the strict phonetic option is chosen, some of the letters are pronounced in the conventional way. E.G. g is pronounced “guh”. I would love to see this changed!
Fantastic book series. Great that I have found such a useful resource for the iPad. Books are fantastic and easy for child to progress through the levels. I think the series is fantastic for the price.
