Is alright
Only five downloads a week which I can live with but hardly has any popular trending music only from few artists. Be careful of bad covers and karaoke versions. Try your luck with a different app or just use spotifyy like me.
Reasonable app, but I prefer the website for downloading
The app itself works quite well. Download limits are set by my local library (I get 3 per week). Browsing is fairly easy. The range of music on offer is up to what artists & record labels are happy to provide I guess. I do find it strange that downloads from different artists come at different quality mp3 files, but again I guess that’s up to what the artists/record labels provide.
It’s not difficult to get songs downloaded inside the app across to your computer via the file sharing inside iTunes, but I just prefer downloading from the website on my laptop so songs can go directly into iTunes without that faffing about.
Overall I’m grateful for the service and the app.
Frustrating bug iOS 14.7.1
Would be an OK app, but a serious bug in iOS 14.7.1 (iPhone 6s) makes it totally useless and frustrating: when an album is playing, If the app is in the background or iPhone is locked it just stops playing when the song ends.
This happens for every album, in every playing mode (shuffle/repeat are also affected). You need to reopen the app to start the next song, making the app super frustrating.
This does not happen with older iOS (work well under iOS 10 devices).
Also, please buffer the next song before the actual song ends! When the app was working, it was super annoying to wait 2 seconds between songs (especially live albums).
