Every time I send an email or contact support, my enquiry is answered quickly and simply.

The system is so incredibly simple to use yet so powerful!

It has full accounting capabilities if you want your accountant to be involved. The beauty is that the interface requires ZERO accounting knowledge. It’s just simple. Get in, do what you need and get out.

There is a wonderful app for iPhone and iPad that lets you do everything you can in the web app. It’s snappy and responsive.

My work is largely time based so when I’m working with a customer I start a timer.

Sending an invoice is equally simple.
From the time I get off the train to the time I need to present my ticket (under 90 seconds) I’ve been able to generate and send off an invoice to a customer.

It’s even alerted me to unbilled time for a client. I’d forgotten to send an invoice and hence collect revenue. FreshBooks alerted me to this fact and allowed me to send through the invoice and get paid!

The only thing that it is missing is the support for Australian BAS - Business Activity Statement which is part of our tax requirement. This could be a deal breaker if you’re not willing to pay a book keeper or do it yourself.

Regardless I highly recommend FreshBooks.

Starting to get a lot more problems…

This app has been fantastic for most of the time… but since 2022 I’m getting more login issues and now the devices don’t sync to each other and most frustratingly when I’m adding payments to invoices, they are not being updated immediately (ie you add a payment, then when you go back to look at that invoice- it’s still marked as ‘unpaid’)
Today I couldn’t log into my app and then it sent me to log into the website. I created an invoice on the website. Download the PDF and it froze up and wouldn’t do anything.
So I open the app again, and I was able to login but now the app will not show on the invoice page the invoice I just created. But if I do a search of the client name the invoice does appear and an error message says I need to refresh the app for it to appear. But I have refreshed a dozen times, it is not appearing and I can’t go in and edit it.

Great Cloud based accounting software for small consultantancy

I’ve been using this app since 2016. I spent 3 days researching apps to suit my (then) new small business and narrowed it down to four apps. I trialled them for a few weeks before settling on Freshbooks. I’m very happy with the choice, it’s been perfect for my very small Environmental consultancy. The cost is on point and after sales service is top notch. My accountant logs in enabling them to seemlessly run reports for tax time. Thanks Freshbooks keep up the great work !
