FulGaz 4+

I have been using FulGaz on and off for probably 6 years or more. I love the concept and the passion that creates the product. On my old iPad Air it is amazing but the display is tiny. overall a great product but I wanted two things: 4K experience and an easy way to store many of the rich videos provided.
My solution was the windows pc version but it has crashed non-stop or outright failed to control resistance on one PC and 3 different laptop brands and configurations.
Setting up a networked drive for Apple TV is a pain and not something I can do just for one app when I have so much windows hardware so.. little iPad it is sadly.

Why a windows review in the App Store? Because it can’t be exclusive to apple when the pc option can provide riders with better more affordable and less complicated options if it worked on both platforms.

If it worked reliably on windows then it would be absolutely the best out there - no questions. The FulGaz team understand cycling totally and are fastidious about film quality - the selection of rides is magnificent. I’m just very disappointed that I can’t place my 4K monitor in front of my bike and enjoy the full experience. I hope to edit this review in the future with improved results. Either Apple TV becomes reasonable about storage or we have to hope that FG pc version will become reliable.

I do want to love this app but I can’t. The videos are almost always excellent and theres a great variety of rides. But the app itself is buggy and the interface is unintuitive (eg need to go through - or manually skip - steps of connecting trainer in order to look at potential rides or ride history). Doesn’t really seem to be designed with much of an eye to user experience. That said I will stick with it for a bit longer with the hope of further improvements.

I have tried all of the cycling apps and this is certainly my preferred trading tool. Note that I do have a preference for video rather than computer simulation and I ride solo. The views on some of these rides is spectacular and certainly distracts you from the boredom of the trainer.I use Apple TV and a Wahoo Kickr with Kickr Climb & Headwind. All work perfectly with FulGaz. The one thing I do is download the 4K rides as I found the streaming to be a bit variable, especially In 4K but that’s not the apps fault - I hope! I’ve also used some of their training apps which I found very helpful as well. Also, the addition of fresh rides every week is a huge bonus. I haven’t redone a ride yet; too many choices. Heartily recommended.
